Paula Fries, LCAT, ATR-BC, CPRP

Deputy Director

Paula has over twenty-eight years of experience working in the mental health field. As a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist, she attributes her training for her commitment to providing an environment which fosters creative self-expression, and the building of community as providing the cornerstones of a recovery journey.

Ms. Fries came to Clubhouse of Suffolk in 1993 following positions at Skills Unlimited and the Veterans Administration Hospital in Northport. In her initial year with Clubhouse, she opened the first NYS licensed IPRT (Intensive Psychiatric Rehabilitation Treatment) program in Suffolk County. Paula has trained extensively in the Boston University Psychiatric Rehabilitation Approach. In her current role as Deputy Director and Compliance Officer at the Clubhouse of Suffolk, she is responsible for all agency Corporate Compliance functions, in addition to executive oversight of the two Personalized Recovery Oriented Services (PROS) licensed programs at Clubhouse Ronkonkoma and Synergy Center. Ms. Fries is also responsible for the implementation and oversight of Anasazi Software, an integrated, Behavioral Healthcare Electronic Health Record system; and all facets of HIPAA compliance. Ms. Fries earned her Masters Degree in Creative Arts Therapy from Hofstra University in 1982.

In early 2006, Paula became the President of the Anasazi Software National Alliance (ASNA), a nation-wide community of 100+ provider members who use Anasazi Software. She is currently the Immediate Past-president of ASNA. Ms. Fries also served as the President of the Anasazi New York State users group (ANYSIG) from April 2009 - April 2010. In 2002, Ms. Fries was the recipient of the NYAPRS (New York Association of Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services) Marty Smith Memorial Award "...for contributions to the advancement of services for people with psychiatric disabilities in New York State."
