Tobacco Intervention Practices

Champions come in many forms... individuals and organizations; those who take action and those who support them.

Training for Change builds a bridge of knowledge and helps develop champions. We've used our experience, methodology and credentials to create a DVD tutorial toolkit called TIPS, Tobacco Intervention Practices for Behavioral Health Providers.

TIPS is a "how to" guide for integrating and implementing tobacco dependence treatment services. We recognize the staggering toll paid by tobacco users who suffer from serious mental illness both in terms of lost lives and public health dollars.

This training toolkit is challenging you to join the ranks of other champions in recognizing that addressing tobacco use in this population is possible and the right thing to do.

Part 1 is designed to make a champion of every member of your staff that is engaged as a healthcare provider for consumers who are tobacco dependent.

Part 2 is designed to be a toolkit for those individuals in your organization who have been identified as leaders who will be responsible for delivering individual and/or group services to your clients.
